Whiteboard scheduling
Jobs assigned by memory; double-bookings and idle gaps.
Industries / Field services
Job scheduling, technician dispatch, digital job sheets, photos, and customer sign-off — for maintenance, installation, and servicing teams.
For businesses that send technicians, installers, or cleaners to customer sites — aircon, pest control, maintenance, repairs — the office-to-field gap is where time and money leak. Jobs assigned by phone, status unknown until someone calls in, paper job sheets that arrive days late, and invoices held up waiting on paperwork. Field service management software closes that gap by giving the office and the field a single live view of every job, from booking through to billing.
Singapore's digital economy reached 18.6% of GDP in 2023, up from 14.9% in 2019, and adoption of digital operations tools among trade businesses is now mainstream rather than exceptional. The core cycle — schedule the job, dispatch the right technician, capture proof of work on site, and trigger the invoice the moment the job closes — is well-supported by modern field service tools, whether off-the-shelf or custom-built around your specific job logic.

Beyond a calendar and a mobile app, a field-service system for Singapore should handle:
If the mobile app is clunky or fails offline, field staff revert to phone calls and paper. Trial the app with your actual technicians before committing.
Timestamped photos, completed checklists, parts used, and a customer e-signature captured on site — essential for disputes, warranties, and audit.
Singapore's GST InvoiceNow Requirement phases in from 2025 to 2031. Your tool should be Peppol-ready or connect cleanly to accounting software that is.
Every photo, signature, and customer address captured on site is personal data under the PDPA — ask where it is hosted, who can access it, and how a breach is handled.
Singapore context
The Personal Data Protection Act applies from the moment a technician captures a customer signature or address on their phone. Every job photo, site note, and contact record is personal data with duties around consent, protection, retention, and breach notification. Under the PDPA, a notifiable breach must be reported to the PDPC as soon as practicable and no later than 3 calendar days; a breach affecting 500 or more individuals is considered significant scale. Asking any vendor where customer data is hosted, what access controls exist, and how a breach is handled is not optional due diligence.
On the invoicing side, Singapore's GST InvoiceNow Requirement introduces mandatory Peppol-based e-invoicing in phases: voluntary from 1 May 2025, then mandatory for newly-incorporated voluntary GST registrants from 1 November 2025, for all new voluntary GST registrants from 1 April 2026, and phasing to essentially all GST-registered businesses by 2031. If your field-service tool bills on job completion, it needs to be Peppol/PINT-SG ready or integrate with accounting software that is — otherwise you will be forced to rework your invoicing flow within a few years.
